Annual School Report 2024-25
Good morning to one and all.
On behalf of Shri Vithalrao Joshi Charities Trust’s English Medium School & Junior College of Science, I warmly welcome our honourable Chief Guest Shri. Vijayji Bhalerao Sir, to this 22nd Annual Cultural Day of our Institute. I extend a cordial welcome to the invited guests, parents, teachers, well-wishers and dear students of our school. Let’s begin this joyous occasion by expressing gratitude towards Chief Trustee Shri Kaka Maharaj for fostering the growth and development of education in this rural area and our Managing Trustee Shri. Vikasji Walawalkar, for extending his generous hand for all the school projects.
With great pride and immense pleasure, I present the Annual Report, highlighting the remarkable progress our school has achieved in delivering quality education and fostering excellence in sports during the academic year 2024-25. This report is being shared on the auspicious occasion of our 22nd Annual Day Celebrations.
Our school has proudly completed 26 fruitful years, marked by numerous milestones and achievements. Our unwavering commitment remains focused on ensuring the holistic development of our students. Alongside imparting the best education, we emphasize sports, physical education, and extracurricular activities, fostering the all-round growth and excellence of our students.
Currently, our school has 869 students on its rolls, supported by an experienced and dedicated team of 52 teachers, 3 administrative staff, and 10 support staff. Additionally, a team of passionate educators from Pune and Mumbai regularly visits the school to provide valuable guidance to our students. Their collaboration and seamless coordination with our in-house team ensure the smooth functioning of the school while introducing fresh perspectives for growth and innovation.
We prioritize maintaining an optimal teacher-pupil ratio of 1:30, ensuring that each student receives personalized attention to support their steady academic progress. Admissions are granted on a ‘First Come, First Admission’ basis. Furthermore, our school proudly upholds its commitment to integrity by not accepting any donations or raising funds from students for school amenities.
SVJCT School is committed to equip the students with essential 21st-century skills that will be in high demand, thus preparing them for careers that are likely to emerge in a tech-driven world. Robotics and AI are driving the future of technology. Robotics, AI, and Coding are reshaping industries and everyday life. Teaching students these subjects early can make Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) more interesting and accessible. Therefore, the school has started these subjects from Primary classes, focusing on experimental learning through interactive activities and projects.
Our facilities include quality infrastructure with separate well equipped Science Laboratories, two state-of–the-art Computer Labs separate for Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary section with altogether 70 computers with round the clock free internet facilities. Computer education is offered from Std. First. We are so fortunate to have a well-stocked library with around 10000 books, spacious, airy classrooms and indoor playground with colourful rubber flooring and a lot of learning aids.
Activity based Learning labs for Language, Math, Science, Social Science, Music provide hands-on experience to the students. The most favourite Atal Tinkering Lab with all the equipment and 3D Printer in place has benefited the students in thinking novel ideas and being technology-friendly. The special Art and Craft room creates an ambience where the students are trained to explore their artistic potential.
Academic Excellence:
75 students from Grade 10 and 12 appeared for the CBSE Board Exams and we are proud to say that, Mast. Tanmay Bhandari of Class 10, topped the School scoring 97.40% achieving a perfect 100 in 3 subjects – Sanskrit, Math and Social Studies. Five students achieved 100/100 in Sanskrit. In Class 12 Science Mast. Mohammad Hadi topped with 91.80% marks.
The students are encouraged to make working models and projects in Science, Social Science and Maths and provide an opportunity to exhibit them in Science-Math Exhibition. Science Diagram Competition is also organized for the students from Pre-primary to Secondary Classes.
We motivate our students to participate in various competitive examinations such as Scholarship, Homi Bhabha Bal Vaidnyanik, Bhaskaracharya Maths Exam, English-Math-Science-Cyber Olympiads, Ganit Pravinya- Pradnya Pariksha, Inter-school elocution competition, Elementary & Intermediate drawing exams, etc. and provide special coaching without additional fees. From this year a new Robotics Competition is being introduced.
From Grade 2 to 7 about 157 students appeared for Maharashtra Pradnya Shodh Pariksha of which 20 students secured rank in Merit list.
From Grade 5 and 8 , 22 students have appeared for Ganit Pravinya Pariksha.
For Bhaskaracharya Mathematics Talent Search Competition – 11 students from Class 6th and 7th appeared, of which 03 are selected for next level.
Ms. Anushka Sakpal from Class 10 received the ‘Best Student – Godbole Award’ for the year 2023-24
We have introduced Sanskrit language from Std. First. Also in order to facilitate higher education and open new avenues of career, learning of foreign languages such as German and Spanish is made available to the students of Std. 5th onwards. Foreign language days are separately celebrated in our school. The students are prepared to appear for the International Exams. This year 5 students from Class 9 appeared for Fit in Deutsch 1 exam conducted by Goethe Institute and all passed in Distinction.
Under the Dervan Vigyan Mahotsav in collaboration with Vigyan Bharati, addresses of eminent scientists and experts working in various fields are regularly organized. This year some of the distinguished speakers were: Dr. Ashish Lele, Director, CSIR – National Chemical Laboratory – Clean Energy; Dr. Kalyan Sundaram, Senior Scientist – Indian Knowledge System; Dr. Asawari Dhavale, Senior Scientist, BARC – Particle Accelerator and its Applications; Dr. Yellojirao Mirajkar, GIST Forum, India – Uttam Aahaar Uttam Vichaar.
India is emerging as next Space Superpower. Today’s youngsters are our future and it is the need of the hour to ignite their minds to learn Space Science. Therefore a dedicated Space Lab is created at the school to introduce these subjects in an interactive and entertaining way.
Students are very fortunate to be guided by world-renowned Space Educators. Space Science is added as a new learning subject and with the guidance from qualified Space Educators and availability of variety of learning material in Library will also give the students an insight into the broad spectrum of Astronomy and Space Technology related careers.
Co-curricular and Extracurricular activities:
We celebrate national and international days and festivals by organizing variety of activities such as essay writing, shlok recitation, elocution, singing, storytelling, debate, Quizzes, chanting abhang, handwriting, drawing, Fancy dress etc.
Theoretical knowledge is not enough. So we conduct skill development workshops to give children work experience such as making models & clay articles, paper bags and paper art, painting, making artistic scented candles, utane, organic soaps and shampoo, building forts, colouring lamps, etc. in which students enthusiasm is worth mentioning.
Personality Development Progamme includes creation of different outlets for the students such as “Aryabhatt Sky Gazer’s Club”, “Kalidas Kutta”, “Vriksha Mitra”, “Young Enterpreneurs Club” through which various activities are organized such as Sky Observation, Plantation drive, Aeromodelling workshop, Nature Camp, etc.
SPORTS:
Sports competitions inculcate the spirit of positive challenges and sportsmanship among the students and prepare them for the life ahead. Sports, games and physical fitness occupy a place of importance in our curriculum. SVJCT’s state-of-the-art Sports Academy proves to be a boon to the students to shine their mettle in sports.
Our students participated in different sports competitions at District, Zonal, State and National levels and won laurels.
Football – Under 19 Boys Football team secured Second Position at District level whereas Under 14 Boys secured First position and got qualified for Zonal level.
Gymnastics – Under 14 Boys Mast. Yash Gavanang secured First position at District level and got qualified for Zonal level.
Rifle shooting – Under 14 Boys -Mast. Harsh Bagave and Mast. Sanskar Shedage (Peep Sight Event) ; Under 14 Girls – Ms. Shanaya Pandit and Ms. Spruha Sawardekar (Open Sight ); Under 19 Boys – Mast. Prathamesh Kadam (Peep Sight) got qualified for School Games Zonal Level.
Mast. Harsh Bagave and Mast. Sanskar Shedage played CBSE Zonal Competition, of which Mast. Harsh Bagave got qualified for CBSE National Competition at Bhopal.
Swimming – Mast. Abhang Bonde, Mast. Kanishk Ghag, Mast. Swaraj Yadav, Ms. Ovi Bonde – all under 14 – secured either 2nd or 3rd Rank at District Level.
Under 17 Girls – Ms. Prerana Monde secured First Rank in 50 m. Freestyle, 100 m. Freestyle and 50 m. Breaststroke. Ms. Aarohi Palkhade secured First Rank in 400 m. Freestyle, 200 m. Freestyle and 100 m. Butterfly. Ms. Tanmayee Jadhav secured First Rank in 50 m. Backstroke, 50 m. Butterfly and 200 m. individual Medley. All of the three participated at Zonal level, of which Ms. Aarohi Palkhade and Ms. Tanmayee Jadhav got qualified for State Level and finally Ms. Tanmayee Jadhav got qualified for National Competition.
The school has two separate hostels for Girls and Boys adjacent to school. Free quarters have been provided to all teaching staff in the campus. Trust provides purified drinking water and has its own alternate power generation system in case of failure of power supply.
This school helps in transformation of the social, cultural and educational pattern of the people in this area. Shaping the young minds by guiding them towards right thoughts, right knowledge and right behavior is its ultimate objective. Many milestones have been achieved and many still have to be reached. We at SRS International School will continue our unceasing efforts to mould the young minds into well balanced personalities with confidence and zeal befitting the standards of this portal of education. We have sailed a long journey and have upgraded to CBSE in the year 2020-21. This institute has grown to become Senior College run in collaboration with Mumbai University’s Garware Institute of Career Education and Development. Our institute offers education from Class Nursery to Class XII in Science Stream and then B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in two vocational courses that are Biomedical Instrumentation and Psychological Health and Behavioural Science with 100% placement.
